Its aim is to increase influence in the facilities marketplace by furthering the professional interests of the plant engineer. Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) members are tasked with understanding and recognizing all issues concerning building maintenance and being able to solve—or know where to turn—to solve these issues in all commercial facilities, including health care and schools.
AFE members work in cooperation with compatible organizations that have similar objectives and are concerned with exercising responsible supervision over the design, layout, construction, maintenance, operation and/or control of fixed or mobile industrial plants or facilities.

Its leadership team is comprised of fire chiefs, campus fire prevention officers, fire inspectors, university fire directors, and university fire marshals.

Certified Fire and Egress Door Inspector Program
This program allows companies to purchase and apply an Intertek program specific label to the fire or egress rated assembly after inspection. The label identifies that the inspection was conducted by a Certified Fire & Egress Door Inspector and states the year of the inspection. Companies offering annual fire and egress door inspection services should utilize Intertek-Certified Inspectors to assure AHJ’s confidence in the inspection.

National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) www.firemarshals.org
The membership of National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) comprises the most senior fire officials in the United States. State Fire Marshals are responsible for fire safety code adoption and enforcement, fire and arson investigation, fire incident data reporting and analysis, public education and advising Governors and State Legislatures on fire protection. Attendees of the NASFM session will be State Fire Marshals and/or members of their staffs.
