Campus Right-to-Know Act

The Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Act is a bill aimed at increasing fire safety awareness on college campuses. It amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 requiring colleges & universities to report specific fire safety information and statistics to the Department of Education for on-campus student housing. The report is to include: the number of fires and the cause, number of injuries and deaths and the value of property damage caused by a fire. The report shall also include information on the overall fire safety system, including a report on fire doors and walls—which help to reduce the spread of fire.
