Your Career in Door Security & Safety Starts Here

Workforce Development Program
The Workforce Development Program is a joint program from the Door Security and Safety Foundation (DSSF) and the Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) preparing high school and college students to enter the door security and safety profession with foundational industry knowledge.
Doors create pathways, define transitions and provide privacy and protection. Doors are a simple, yet critical part of the infrastructure of our everyday lives. The door and door hardware professionals create and distribute allow us all to exist in community spaces that are accessible, efficient, and safe. Pursuing a career in the door hardware industry is not only an impactful and essential profession but also increasingly in demand.
This initiative opens the door for young people to discover a rewarding and often overlooked career path — one that doesn’t require a college degree, offers near-guaranteed job security, and boasts high salary potential earlier than many other industries.
